I agree that the book had an abundance of information and that it was very well written. I cannot imagine living in Vietnam during any point of the book. The fear must have been unmeasurable. We live such safe lives with such a stable government; when September 11th occurred I was scared out of my mind, the plane that crashed in the Pennsylvania field was only 25 minutes away from my home! That was an isolated incident so I can't imagine hundreds of years of being bombed or controlled and not knowing what leaders to believe and what information presented to you was correct or if your home would even be there when you returned.
This was a very moving book and I am looking forward to learning more about the war and the people involved not only in Vietnam and the US but around the world as well since this was a global effort to end communism. I am also interested in how the communication between world leaders and ordinary peasants effected the war and its outcome.
