Tiffany's Response to the Tradgedy of Vietnam

Before reading this book, I didn't know very much about the Vietnam War. It wasn't covered very much at our school and I to be honest I just always thought it was kind of boring. But, after reading this book I really have a very different perspective on the whole thing. I feel like the most interesting part of the book for me was the descriptions and pictures of the Buddhists that burned themselves alive in protest. I think its one thing to read about it, but when you see actual images of them actually on fire, you can't help but be moved. I also agree with Deepti in that I think that the book did a good job of not being biased despite being written by an American. Although I do feel like the book did a good job of getting in a lot of information in a small amount of pages, I also think that it was kind of dry and hard to follow at times. Sometimes I had trouble differentiating between the different battles and leaders. But, overall, I feel like the Tragedy of Vietnam sparked my interest about this war and has made me more excited about finding out even more about it as the semester goes on.
